Why Do You Ask For Financial Donations? |

The simplest answer is that money is easier to move across the nation or internationally than physical items. Almost all relief organizations will tell you the same thing, if is easier and costs less to move money and purchase items needed closer to the disaster response area, than to try and catalog, package, load, ship, unload and deliver items across the country or world. In fact the cost of fuel is making it harder to move items from one place to another and you also have to consider the cost of storing items that can't be used.
While there will be times that we do ask for certian items that can be used, in reality, the money is what is needed and allows us to be more responsive and efficient to a disaster. If you wish to donate items, please contact us directly and dicuss the issue. We may be will to accept the items and then place them on eBay or somehow sell them to raise the funds that we need. We generally do not turn down any support, but please contact us first before making your donation.
