How Much Of My Donation Goes To Relief Efforts
Wednesday, 12 May 2004

Of the disaster relief funds that are raised each year, between 90 to 95% of all the funds go into the program. What that means is that 90¢ to 95¢ of each $1 goes into the relief program. So for each $100 donated, between $90 and $95 dollars goes directly into the program. This is one of the best averages there is in this type of program. Most other non-profit organizations only use about 65% which is the national minimum for what must go back into the program it was raised for.

We are able to place more funds into the program as we mainly do our fundraising online and by word-of-mouth and we have a very low overhead. We use very little of the funds raised for the daily operation of the organization and strive to ensure that we meet our goal of no less than 90%, but most of the time it is far higher than this.
